After the bathroom remodel, we discovered that one (out of over 100) solder joint failed. I cut away the laundry roof ceiling and there has been a bucket under it ever since. Today I finally got around to cutting out the bad spot and replaced it with a 3/4″ Shark Bite fitting designed just for this purpose!
The “T” sticking out of the top is where I stubbed out the old pipe going up to the heater. I cut that off first to let air in to completely drain the line. Bleeding the entire heating system again is going to be no fun, if when I did it last year is any example!
