I took the Jetta to the shop to get it diagnosed. As you can see from the list. It’s got troubles.
First off were the codes from the ABS/SRS reader:
- 00290 – ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Rear Left
- 00287 – ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Rear Right
- U0415 – Invalid Data Received from ABS Control Module
The big pile of codes came from the ODBII scanner:
- P0300 – Random Cyl Misfire
- P0301 – Cyl 1 Misfire
- P0302 – Cyl 2 Misfire
- P0303 – Cyl 3 Misfire
- P0304 – Cyl 4 Misfire
- P0341 – Cam Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
- P0507 – Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected
- P055F – Engine Oil Pressure Out of Range
- P1570 – ECM Disabled
- P0011 – “A” Camshaft Position – Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)
- P0068 – MAP/MAF – Throttle Position Correlation
The tech at the shop suggested that we take the car to VW and ask them to flash the ECM. He felt that the car could not be properly diagnosed without first updating the ECM.
I honestly believe there is nothing wrong with the car. It runs and drives smoothly. The engine doesn’t stutter at all. I have had a car with one cylinder misfiring before. You could feel it. This car supposedly has ALL FOUR cylinders misfiring and it is running super smooth.
