We got a new router from Verizon last week. I spent some time creating a spreadsheet of configurations for the network and then I had to physically move the router, which involved hours of cabling. I had to use a female to female connector to attach a patch cable to some infrastructural cabling. I pulled wires through the walls over six years ago, I am not doing that again!

Everything was done and the run through the walls didn’t work. I gave up for the night. The one kid it affected could wait.

After a few hours of troubleshooting this morning, I figured out the problem. It was the female to female coupler. It was bad. After terminating and then reterminating three cable ends, I finally replaced the coupler.

It worked.

I am so glad I didn’t have to spend the entire day pulling cable.
