I finally figured out how to fasten the tub to the floor!
I started by mapping out where the feet would be on the floor. I did that with a piece of kraft paper. Once I marked the feet, I moved the tub off to the side. I them marked the center of the circles I had drawn, directly on the floor.
Next, I ran to the hardware store and got a 1 3/8″ forstner bit . The tub’s feet are 1 1/4″ in diameter, so I got a bit with a little wiggle room.
I then drilled about halfway into the laminate floor, creating four divots for the tub’s feet. Trust me that was nerve wracking.
Then I did a test fit. I slid the tub into place. All four feet dropped into place like a dream!
The final step was to fill all four divots with construction adhesive and put the PVC “glue” on the drain pipe. Now we just need to wait about 48 hours (I know that’s overkill) for the adhesive to set up.
I cannot wait to use it. 🙂
Oh! Here’s a picture of the bathroom at the end of the demolition process.
