Second morning of the ride home we got on the road, everything was doing great for about the first 5 miles. Then the trailer started making a thrumming sound. We were a little over two miles from a rest area. So, we pulled in. I got out and saw the flat. I didn’t have a spare. D’oh!
Fortunately we were pretty close to a Tractor Supply. They had three of the right sized wheels and tires in stock and they opened right when we would arrive. so we locked up and left the trailer in the rest area and went shopping.
When we got back I grabbed the jack out of the jeep and got to work. A few minutes later the tire was changed and we were on our way.
Unfortunately the replacement tires were lighter weight than the “High Speed” ones I was using from eTrailer.com so, we had to keep the speed down. That, plus the two hours it took to get and change the tire added three hours to our trip home.
