I first heard about Meshtastic about two years ago. I have been interested in using it to send messages since then, but it wasn’t until recently that I had a use case.
My wife and I were camping on Assateague Island in Maryland and we had zero cell service. If I had the Meshtastic network up and running, we could have communicated anyway.
So I bought a pair of T-Beams to see if I could make it work and have since ordered a T-LoRa T3-S3 to use as a base station/relay. next I need to figure out how to get it running on one of these small Heltec devices, so I can put it up on a drone to may longer distance connections.
