Experience:

3/2003 – Present Christiana Care Health Systems, New Castle, Delaware
Systems Analyst
  • Developed an architecture to standardize data transfers via ftp, sftp, samba and tcp/ip sockets.
  • Developed and implemented the process that allows the automatic transfer of files from Soarian to Cloverleaf replacing a piece of software that was quoted at $35,000 excluding hardware and maintenance costs.
  • Created a suite of tools to allow application analysts to maintain and promote their own translation tables using a webform and a simple front end tool to initiate the transfers.
  • Developed complex, real-time interfaces using the Cloverleaf integration engine. Including ADT, ordering and resulting interfaces to many systems.
    • Level 2 Cloverleaf certified
    • Well versed in the HL-7 protocol
    • Highly experienced in perl development
  • Designed and maintain the standardized documentation templates and documentation SharePoint sites.
  • Created multiple real-time interfaces for the HIS replacement project.
  • Educate fellow team members on the use of the standardized tools I have developed as well as supplying direct perl support to our (and other) groups.

  • Responsible for building and packaging code for deployment to our client base.
  • Manage the StarBase version control package, StarTeam.
  • Compile products written in Delphi, C++ and have begun to work with the .NET environment.
  • Automated the build process in an object oriented, plug-in frameworked manner, using python.
  • This process completes all of the tasks in the build life cycle from code check out through code check in and emailing a completion notice.
  • This process also includes dependency checking and correct application of build order.

  • Was responsible for building code, analyzing build errors, configuring and deploying code across a complicated multi-platform environment. (Solaris and Windows NT)
  • Was also responsible for automating deployments and the auditing of servers.
  • Used the following tools: Clear Case, PERL, KSH, Expect and others.
  • Prepared technical documentation for management and development.
  • Maintained ClearCase source control libraries including triggers and branch/view creation/maintenance.
3/1999 – 3/2000 MSI/Eclipsys Alpharetta, Georgia

  • Replaced custom coded interfaces with interfaces developed in the Eclipsys/MSI integration tool set. (ELink/EView, E-Web It)
  • Was responsible for creating the MS Project time line and managing resources involved with the development and documentation of a Master Patient Index and Data repository.
  • Implemented an HTML, JavaScript based retrieval system to allow users access to MPI data.
  • Developed key interfaces between hospital information systems and foreign systems using MSI’s ELink product.

  • Designed and installed multiple interfaces between hospital information systems and ancillary systems for Atlanta area hospital using HCI Cloverleaf, TCL and PERL. Much of this work was done to the HL7 specification.
  • Provided low cost web hosting to small businesses and individuals.
  • Provided support, wrote documentation and did custom scripting (PERL/CGI and JavaScript) and web development for small businesses. Using HIE’s Cloverleaf integration engine, and extensive TCL and PERL I developed several mission critical interfaces.
